Digging and partying

Yesterday morning we started by picking onions and digging up carrots. It was hard work (partly because they were scattered about among lots of weeds, and partly because their gigantic dog was "helping" us).

After lunch Sophie finished washing the wool from the mill that she started on Thursday, and Rowan stripped the paint from some of the shingles on the front of the house. We finished at about four. In the evening we went along to a family party with about 100 relatives - the owners have a very big family! The band was entirely made of family members too.

Today we had a lie in and took it easy all morning. No work today as it’s Saturday, but we did go to another farm to collect some sheep that the owners had been offered. It's now raining (the weather has turned autumnal right on the equinox) so we decided not to go on the walk we'd considered doing. Maybe tomorrow.

(this is one of the llamas, and a view of the farm - the nearest white house - we took yesterday)

Comments:
It looks so beautiful, with the sea so close by. What is the nearest town so we can look it up on the map?

Canning is a very small town a few miles away, and Kentville is the nearest proper town. It is beautiful - a mountain (or big hill anyway) behind the farm, and mixed farmland and forest throughout the valley.
