First day wwoofing

Had a very fine day at our first farm, in Nova Scotia. It's a beautiful small farm with sheep, mohair goats and llamas. The owner spins, dyes and weaves the wool herself.
After getting up late (sleep! at last!) we spent the day washing and carding wool outside in the warm sunshine and being glad we weren't in an office. Apologies to all reading this from an office.

After our day's work was done we walked down to the harbour and on the way admired the farmhouses. They're all built of wood and look very ye olde North American, as if people inside should be making quilts and eating blueberry pie. One had a herd of wooden cows in the garden. The house next door it had two wooden children in the garden, so it's probably a local fashion.
