Woolly sheep

Last night we got a soak in the hot tub - this farm just gets better and better!
After breakfast we started work on washing a sheep’s fleece and carding the mohair Sophie had washed on Monday. That kept us busy all day - well, until 3:30 which is a full day's work for us. (Carding is basically brushing or combing out the wool, which untangles it and removes bits of straw and dirt)

We intended to go for a walk in the afternoon but the rain thwarted us. After dinner it had stopped so we walked up to see the sheep again. Myrtle (one of the bottle-reared ewes, so very tame) came up and let us stroke her. The barn cat followed us all the way up to the top of the farm and all the way back – it seemed to like the company. We caused a bit of consternation among the sheep, who stampeded all over the place. Some of them had little head-butting fights along the way.
