Many many apples
This week we have almost been in step with UK time despite the time difference - all our meals are really early so we don't get in the way of the guests' food being prepared, and we start work between 7 and 8. Rowan is adjusting surprisingly well considering he's not usually very alert before noon. Must be all the fresh air.
Our work so far has been more apple picking (definitely won't be eating apples for fun for a while), pressing the apples, and weeding pastures in the rain. This being an organic farm the weeds have to be got rid of the hard way - pulling them by hand. Neither of us minded being out in the rain (for one morning, anyway) - when you're working it's quite refreshing.
The ranch is really beautiful - the surroundings and the interiors, but this is more like being an employee and less like being one of the family (as we expected). We're taking Monday and Tuesday off, and hoping to hire a car on Tuesday so we can see a bit more of the area. Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada, but I think we might end up eating leftover turkey by ourselves in the restaurant. It's a hard life...not really!

Funny to read your blog whilst eating an apple (lunchtime). We miss you both at cell group particularly, but it is so lovely to read the news of your travels. Sarah.
