PEI. Famous for potatoes.
Rowan was really tired when we finished on Monday, despite the short day - too much heavy lifting this week! We packed our stuff and cleaned the room then in the evening we read a book called “How to buy and start your small farm or ranch”. It was a very nice book – all about how important to humanity small farming communities were, and how farming on a small scale with horses or mules was the way forward. It had a bit in the introduction about how if you ever felt your need or dream to be a farmer was selfish, you should remember that you will be doing a great service to your fellow man etc which we liked. We have read some great books here, and have already decided that we want grey and blue runners (which is a breed of duck).Yesterday we spent the day travelling (bus, ferry and taxi) and now we are staying with the Great Canadian Soap company. Today we made up some flat-pack shelves which will be used for drying and curing the soap, and fed the goats. Tomorrow we will learn how to make goats milk soap (it's apparently very tricky to make soap with goats milk, so we won't be able to let you in on the secret process).
Above is a photo from last week.

What a beautiful photo. Victoria left today for Tanzania, but won't get there for at least 24 hours as she is flying via the Middle East.
