One more day in Sidney
Thursday 30 November
After a lazy morning we walked along the snowy slushy roads into the centre of Sidney (about a mile from the house) for lunch and had a nice afternoon looking round shops and galleries. There was some very good art there (much better than Tofino!) but mostly outside our budget. We noticed there were a lot of bookshops for such a small place, and later heard that someone who liked Hay-on-Wye in England had decided to try to make Sidney into a bookshop town too. We got the bus back as the walk there was a bit too wet and not pedestrian-friendly.
Nan had spoken to Jacques (her sister, our host on Saturna), who thought it would be warm enough for us to come to Saturna the next day, though they still had no electricity.
